Support frame modified and renforced zipped rear seat access for location beacon fixed rings (instead of adjustable, like in the 650 2nd series) for attaching small luggage . additional rally tail light reduced plate holder front lights protection opening for quick access to the air filter on the left side cover additional storage on protection plate for water and tools reinforcing bar connecting the front side fairings chafing between cylinders and air box . additional radiator protection . dedicated performance exhaust   triple clamps lighter and stronger reinforced shock (derived from XR?) with external regulation and greater adjustment 1 front brake only (this caused the RD04 slipping to the Silhouette class during Dakar '91!) missing chain slide and attachments CR500 rear chain guide latch mechanism on snail fork to enable easy wheel change/removal Wider foot on side stand for use on soft ground . additional side stand for right of bike to enable wheel change without centre stand . front of fork guard removed to quicken wheel removal without removing whole guard shortened front mudguard   chassis serial number that begins with 6 instead of 5
